Cedarhurst Course Overview
Designed by Stanley Thompson (1926 - front nine) and Bert Turcotte (1964 - back nine), Cedarhurst Golf Club has matured into a fine test of golf. As a semi-private golf club, members and the public alike can enjoy excellent golf and great times on the patio. With a par of 70, this 6200 yard layout yields few low scores. The Stanley Thompson-designed front nine requires accurate tee shots to narrow, rolling fairways and pinpoint approaches to small greens. The back half is longer, with more forgiving fairways, some beautiful water features and larger sloped greens. The course features one of the most daunting par 3's in golf. The third hole is a 243 yard Stanley Thompson gem a postal stamp sized green. Only 2 hole in ones have been recorded here in 93 years.
There are also many birdie opportunities out there. The short par four 5th and 7th holes can be accessed easily with pinpoint short irons. The three par fives can be hit in two shots, if you're a big hitter. Old growth cedar trees line the majority of the course and, if you don't stay in the fairway, you may find yourself chipping out from underneath them. With so many varied holes, Cedarhurst is always an interesting test of golf for players of all skill levels.
